Honor has unveiled their Honor Watch 4 With 1.75 Inch AMOLED Display and e-SIM Support at an event alongside its Magic V2 flagship foldable smartphone and MagicPad 13 tablet. The wearable is Honor’s entry-level smartwatch designed to provide fitness and sleep tracking functionality, featuring heart rate monitoring, water resistance and always-on display functionality.

Honor’s latest smartwatch boasts a 1.75-inch AMOLED display with HD resolution and 60Hz refresh rate, supporting over 400 watch faces. In addition, there’s a built-in microphone for calls as well as 5-ATM water resistance rating for improved functionality.

Honor Watch 4 stands out with its revolutionary eSIM functionality for making and receiving phone calls without needing to carry around an additional mobile phone. Bluetooth headphones can also be connected for hands-free audio listening. Available in Obsidian Black, Morning Glory Gold and Cloud Water Blue colors starting from 999 Yuan ($140 or Rs 10,850), this watch starts its journey on China at only Rs 10,850 (approx).

Honor Watch 4 offers plenty in terms of fitness tracking. There are 95 different exercise modes that can monitor metrics such as heart rate zones, cadence and pace; there’s even an array of “Fitness courses” designed to keep users motivated while encouraging regular use.

These new fitness-oriented modes are powered by a battery capacity of 451 mAh that lasts for up to ten days on one charge, made even more energy-efficient by its core-activation mechanism enabling two and four active cores based on your activity levels; this enables it to conserve power when not needed, giving longer run times than some competing devices.

Honor Watch 4 runs Android Wear 2.0 and provides notifications from your smartphone while offering additional features, such as calendar and calculator functionality, sleep tracking mode and light-sensitive alarm. In addition, its health dashboard displays metrics related to steps taken, distance covered, calories burnt and sleep quality daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.

The Honor Watch 4 is an ideal smartwatch for fitness buffs, yet less useful as an everyday communications device. While notifications appear, you cannot respond or use third-party messaging apps such as WhatsApp or Twitter directly from it – an unfortunate omission considering how many wearables in this price range offer full voice and text capabilities.
